Poem about a possible handicap

A clubfoot is not a handicap.
It prevents you from moving too fast.
If you were to race into life
you’d surely come a cropper...
But a clubfoot means: take things more gradually
measure out the distances between
you and your goal
(maybe even change the goalposts)
because you don’t need to get there first
or even ever
And limping can become a fashion
or be turned into a special dance.
A clubhand would be different.
Hard to handle.
