Oh the mind, mind has mountains
Cliffs of fall frightful, sheer, no-man-fathomed
Hold them cheap may who ne'er hung there

Dark night
Sometimes these night I wake
In the deep dark
too hot, kick back the covers
and lie listening
The taps, the ticks, the fluttering in the air
I am alone in the dark night
no hand to touch
no voice to answer mine.
I think - death will be like this.
My brains go dry
my body grows unlovely
I am old and alone.
These nights I wait for dawn.
